After several years of seeking funding for the design and development of a website, followed by serious discussion, planning and implementation, INDEPENDENT PLAYERS is proud and excited to launch its new website. Now, as it begins its 38th Season, IP is realizing its dream to be able to more effectively spread the word about what it is currently doing (as well as what it has done in the past) in a really big way. For 37 years, IP has produced an eclectic array of comedies, dramas, musicals and musical revues season after season from across the theatrical spectrum, and now it has the means to let the entire Chicagoland area know what it has done since its inception in 1978. In its “History,” one can see the name of every show IP has produced, the name of its director and its entire cast. One can also visit the “PLAYERS Gallery” to see all the shows in which each Player has acted or has directed. Patrons will be able to reserve and purchase tickets on line, check out what IP’s partners are doing or can offer other theatre folks or groups, and a whole lot more. INDEPENDENT PLAYERS has always been a group which exemplifies a “fusion” of inspiration and devotion. Over the years, creative people have come together on the IP stage to produce one act, one play/musical, one season at a time! It intends to move into the future with this simple idea in mind!
